"bump" @ 28 weeks

I don't know how I will fit 3 more months of baby in there. Already I can't bend over, nor put on my socks...

Christmas 2011

Happy New Years! 2012 is almost here...

Hope everyone enjoyed a fabulous holiday season! We were lucky enough to see both sides of the family over the holidays.

Christmas Eve dinner was at Dino's mom's house, where we stuffed ourselves with the traditional family feast of bakala (breaded fish) and pasta. Christmas morning we had a delicious brunch at Claudia's, where some of the gifts were also opened.

Then we drug ourselves home for a quick afternoon nap and headed back to Maurizio & Jenn's for the main event - turkey dinner with all the fixings!! It was awesome. And the kids ripped open the remainder of their gifts. Jenn's family (her parents, sister & aunt) also joined us for the celebration - so it was a full house. Dino & I took note that this will be the last Christmas before we add to the family "noise"! Next year - earplugs for everyone! :-)

On Boxing Day we headed off early for Edmonton, stopping along the way at Auntie Dorothy & Uncle Hubert's for a quick visit. We got to see Grandma & Grandpa Oborowsky & Auntie Elsie as well. Mom & Dad had also drove up Christmas Day. The weather held out and made for great travelling too. Next stop was Cora's to unload and then Janessa & Brett's. We hung out there for the rest of the day, eating more great food and watching little Vann open presents and play. He was pretty mellow in his Pook toque and leather recliner we bought him! Tuesday morning we got prettied up :-) to go meet the "future family" - Ted's dad, brother & sister-in-law. We were on our best behaviour and I think we convinced him that Cora should be allowed into their family (Dad has his fingers crossed the whole time - he's been working on this one for awhile! haha). And then we travelled home that afternoon, again with stuffed bellies!

It was a great way to end the year and we hope 2012 brings the best of health, love, laughter and good fortune for all of us and all of you! We know it will be an extra special year for us!

New Year's hugs to all!

more items off the list

This pressure shopping sucks! :-(
but it may be just what I needed to get motivated.

I now have a stroller. And I have a rocking chair ordered!

I decided to go with the Baby Jogger City Select stroller. After talking with many moms and hearing the rave reviews, it seemed like a good option.  Plus there was a sale on, so that helped.

And for the glider/recliner we chose the Monte Grano in white leather. We wanted something comfy, but with a nice contemporary look that will fit nicely into any part of the house later on. Found a great deal online too - compared to other places.

Merry Christmas to us! Hope Dino likes pushing his new gift :-)

getting a little panicked...@ 24 1/2 weeks

It seems December is here and that means approximately 3 1/2 months till the arrival! oh boy...that also means I need to get moving on purchasing stuff and getting ready.

I had a minor panic attack the other night when I realized there isn't much time left and I didn't even have a crib ordered. So I finally ordered one on Thursday night! 1 item down...tons to go. Next on the list - a rocking chair and stroller! Once I get the bigger items out of the way I will feel much better.

Other than that, things are going great. I feel pretty good and there is still lots of movement from the little monster
;-)
I think I had a bit of a growth spurt in the last couple weeks as I feel noticeably bigger.

Dino finally felt the little thing kick about a week ago while we were watching some TV.  The first time he pulled his hand away quite fast - haha. But then he tried again. He also is starting to think QUITE ahead into the future and figures he should change the garage code "so the kid can't get in there with all his stuff".

I guess I should also start thinking about Christmas and shopping one of these days...

"bump" @ 22 weeks

I thought I had stopped growing about 3 weeks ago, as it didn't appear like I had got any bigger. But since it's getting slightly harder to bend over and put socks on, I'm sure that's not the case. I tried to snap a quick photo on my way out the door to work.

We also had our 3D ultrasound this past Friday. It was a neat experience. We chose not to look at the face, but instead found out the gender.
It's a .........

baby!
:-)

I know it's driving some of you crazy not knowing, but we've decided to keep it a secret until the end.

I've also been feeling quite a bit of movement the last few days - it's an active little thing and seems to be doing somersaults just as I lay down to sleep at night!

Vann's baptism - Nov. 12, 2011

We made a quick trip to Edmonton on the long weekend for Vann's baptism. It was fun to see everyone and lots of good food to eat!

And I think Vann's cheeks just keep growing and growing...you just want to bite them! He's a pretty happy kid. Uncle Dino got in some play time and even fed him his bottle while Dad & Grandpa put up Christmas lights. Us girls were out with Cora wedding dress shopping.

Happy Halloween!

Another Halloween - another chance to dress up in a goofy costume!

This year I decided to dress up as myself...sort of. This year I will be a
PEZ dispenser (literally).

This year isn't all about goblins,
ghosts or trick or treats,
it's also about a little one
that we will soon get to meet.

March will probably be the lucky month -
or so the doctor says,
when we will welcome little boy
or girl Baby PEZ.

"bump" @ 17 weeks

We attended Dino's cousins wedding last night at the Palliser Hotel (Dino's cousin). It was a beautiful wedding - great food and company. And we got to visit with cousins from out of town that we don't see very often. I managed to squeeze into a dress in my closet that I wore last Christmas. It was quite stretchy, but I think it was at it's limit. Time to put it away till after..  :-(

San Francisco ~ Oct. 7-11, 2011

We took a mini trip to San Francisco. It was fun, but exhausting! Did tons of walking and sight seeing. The weather was awesome - sunny and warm, rain only one day. It is a very interesting place...with very interesting people. We had some good laughs while we were there! It turned out to be Fleet Week - where the US Navy does an air show. It was cool to see and hear all the different planes flying around for the weekend - especially the Stealth plane. A few other sights we toured - Alcatraz, walked across the Golden Gate Bridge, shopped a bit in Union Square, walked the Wharf a few times and saw the stinky seals at Pier 39. I think the trip made us appreciate home a bit more. We thought the traffic and driving was bad in Calgary - I was surprised that we made it back to our hotel some days  :-) Here are a few photos of our trip.

"bump" @ 15 weeks

This picture was taken last week - September 28 @ 15 weeks. I finally told work and was happy to be dressing somewhat normal and not having to camouflage. It was getting difficult!

I am feeling ok, just quite tired. I was hoping I would have already got my "2nd trimester" burst of energy (that the books talk about), but no such luck yet.

We are leaving this coming Friday for a mini-trip to San Francisco. I hope I have enough energy to view the sites and walk the city.

...coming soon (mid march 2012)

We are excited (and a bit scared) to be welcoming a new member to our family in about 5 1/2 months. It will definitely be an adjustment and we are hoping we are up to the challenge.
